Much of the functionality can be achieved by using Gmail and numerous extensions but you end up with a slow and clunky app that is nowhere near as speedy and rewarding to use on a day-to-day basis. I had similar reservations before I signed up but I have to say that Superhuman is the app that is the most valuable to me in terms of productivity. If you're still here, thanks for reading! I want to be a paying customer with support and development. I don't mind paying for the client, even subscription. I haven't checked how it works now, and don't want to spend 50$ just to check. Newton covered all of this for me before, but dies and rises like a phoenix every other day. Also, 3rd party clients often have better GUI and "workflow". Apple mail can generate native links on MacOS through some scripting, but these don't work on iOS, and you can't generate links there. It often had great trouble gathering mails in threads. Airmail is dead, there doesn't seem to be any updates. Also Spark doesn't separate very well between mail accounts, it's awkward to send a mail to a customer from you private mail on mistake."Generate link" creates a link to their web-client. Tada! Can't find the mail anymore! Also you can't generate the url-scheme links directly, for linking in Notes and similar.

I may have a note that "This mail has critical info regard X on project Y, follow up when you get to stage Z". So when its time to follow up on a mail from Todoist some links have stopped working and Spark can't find the mail. Sparks url-scheme links are great, but will randomly stop working. It's not a long requirements list, but all of my tried apps fall through in some way:

The link should be in the title (Spark does this), not in a comment (Missive).Adding mail to Todoist must create a clickable link in the task that opens the mail in the native app.Client for Mac OS and iOS (both iPhone and iPad). To support this workflow I want to add mail to todoist as a task together with everything else, and most 3rd party have some integration, but none that really works for me. Some times that means deferring a mail to a later date, either because if requires a lot of work to respond to, or because I want to follow up on it later (from days to months). I use GTD to manage my work, and try to empty my mail inbox every day, as I do with my GTD/Todoist-inbox.

What mail client are you using? I've tried Spark, Airmail, Newton, Native Apple Mail, but haven't found any of them to fully support my intended work flow.
